APC Uploads 13 Governorship Candidates for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has uploaded the nomination details of 13 governorship candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) candidate nomination portal, as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections, ahead of the August 8 deadline. A source within the APC revealed that the party has not yet uploaded its state Houses of Assembly candidates' list due to technical glitches on the INEC portal.

Bala Ibrahim, the APC Director of Publicity, confirmed that reconciliation efforts are underway to address grievances related to the candidate selection process. The INEC timetable indicates that the submission of nomination forms for governorship and state Houses of Assembly candidates will close at 6:00 pm on August 8, 2026.

The APC has processed the details of candidates including Dr Obafemi Hamzat (Lagos), Solomon Adeola (Ogun), and others, with five additional candidates' documents still being processed. The party aims to complete the upload of all 28 candidates and their deputies before the deadline.
