APC Waives Screening for Tinubu Ahead of Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided to waive the screening process for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the upcoming party primaries. This decision was reached during the National Working Committee's (NWC) 188th meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday.

A statement issued by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, indicated that the committee deemed it unnecessary for Tinubu to undergo screening, given that he had already been screened prior to the 2022 presidential primaries. The NWC exercised its constitutional power under Article 13 (4) (xiii) and (xiv) to grant this waiver, citing special circumstances.

The party noted that Tinubu has already secured widespread endorsements from various stakeholders within the APC, including the Progressive Governors Forum and the leadership of the National Assembly. This decision reflects the party's confidence in Tinubu's candidacy and aims to streamline the electoral process.
