APC Dismisses PDP's 2027 Election Prospects Amid Crisis

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared the People's Democratic Party (PDP) irrelevant in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections, asserting that the PDP stands no chance of winning due to its internal divisions and prolonged leadership crisis. Bala Ibrahim, APC's Director of Publicity, stated that the PDP's factions hinder its ability to present a unified front, making it difficult to identify a single unit capable of impacting the elections.

He emphasized that regardless of which faction is recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the PDP would arrive at the elections "dead on arrival." In response, PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Moham, described Ibrahim's comments as evidence of APC's apprehension about the opposition's prospects. He argued that the PDP is focused on rebuilding public confidence and positioning itself as a credible alternative ahead of the elections, despite its internal challenges.

Moham expressed confidence that the PDP would emerge stronger and reclaim power in 2027.
