APC's Uthman Alabi Warns of PDP Threat in Kwara 2027

Uthman Alabi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, warned that the party could lose power to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) if it fails to conduct credible and transparent primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking on Sunday in Ilorin, Alabi urged APC members to avoid actions that could weaken the party's internal structure and alienate loyal members.

He emphasized the importance of conducting free and fair primaries to ensure the party's stability and success in the upcoming elections. Alabi also criticized attempts to impose unpopular candidates, which could create divisions within the party and provide opportunities for opposition parties.

He expressed support for Dr. Muheebat Dankaka as a credible senatorial candidate for the Kwara South district, highlighting her experience and acceptance among party members. The senatorial primaries are scheduled for May 18, 2026, and Alabi stressed that the party's future depends on presenting candidates with strong grassroots appeal.
