APGA Introduces Option A4 to Combat Electoral Fraud

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has unveiled the Option A4 voting system as a measure to curb electoral rigging and vote-buying in preparation for the 2027 elections. This announcement was made during a stakeholders' meeting held at the International Convention Centre in Awka, Anambra State, on Saturday.

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo highlighted that the new system aims to eliminate rigging, reduce vote-buying, and promote transparency in the electoral process. He issued a stern warning to party leaders and members regarding the upcoming primaries, emphasizing that they should not treat the process as business as usual.

Soludo outlined strict guidelines governing the exercise and discouraged aspirants from pursuing multiple political offices simultaneously, stating that such practices undermine party discipline. National Chairman Sly Ezeokenwa reinforced the reform agenda, aligning it with Nigeria's Electoral Act, which includes digital registration and direct primaries.

The meeting was characterized as unprecedented, with state chairman Ifeatu Obiokoy commending stakeholder unity.
