Gagdi: Atiku, Obi Lack Efforts to Unseat Tinubu in 2027

Yusuf Gagdi, chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Navy, stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Nigerian Democratic Congress and Peter Obi have not made any significant efforts to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. Speaking on Channels Television, Gagdi emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is far ahead of the opposition parties in political mobilization, noting that he has not seen any actions from Atiku or Obi that suggest they are preparing to challenge Tinubu effectively.

He argued that the APC has maintained active political engagement across Nigeria, contrasting it with the opposition's lack of visible strategy or activity. Gagdi dismissed the notion that opposition politicians are strategically planning for the 2027 elections, asserting that they seem to exploit the country's security challenges for political gain rather than offering practical solutions.
