Bayelsa Commissioner Michael Magbisa Defects to NDC

On Thursday, Michael Magbisa, the Bayelsa Commissioner for Special Duties, announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) at the NDC state secretariat in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Magbisa, a former local government chairman, expressed dissatisfaction with the APC's lack of ideology and internal operations, stating that the party was not a place for the destiny of the people.

He emphasized the need for a credible alternative in Bayelsa politics and highlighted the importance of loyalty and courage in political affiliations. The NDC's state chairman, Dauprebo Ikuromo, welcomed the defectors, commending Magbisa for his bravery in joining the NDC, which he believes represents a brighter future.

The defection is part of a broader coalition involving approximately 5,000 members from various parties, including the APC and Labour Party, who support the leadership style of former Governor Seriake Dickson.
