NDC's Reconciliation Panel Inaugurated Ahead of 2027 Elections

Pat Utomi, a former presidential candidate, disclosed that he has been in a political rivalry with Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), for the past 50 years, yet they remain friends. This statement was made in Abuja following the NDC's inauguration of a reconciliation panel aimed at addressing grievances and litigation from its congresses, convention, and primaries in preparation for the 2027 elections.

Utomi expressed his commitment to uniting the party's aggrieved members, stating, “I feel humble and challenged by this assignment.” The NDC, which he described as a party focused on the youth, inaugurated a 23-member National Reconciliation Committee on August 6, 2026. Utomi chairs this committee, with Galadima serving as co-chairman, tasked with mediating disputes and integrating aggrieved members before the campaign deadlines.
