Following the 2023 elections, Obi's Labour Party faced severe challenges, prompting him to join the NDC, which quickly gained prominence. Obi's campaign strategy diverges from traditional methods, avoiding elaborate campaign councils and advertisements, which he refers to as "criminal structures." He faces obstacles from state governments imposing high fees for campaigning, which appear to target him specifically.
