Iyabo Obasanjo Advocates Consensus for APC Candidates

Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, spoke on Channel Television's Sunrise Daily regarding the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the upcoming 2027 general elections. She supports a consensus approach for candidate selection, believing it will produce credible electoral candidates.

Iyabo Obasanjo dismissed concerns that this process might impose unpopular choices, stating that consensus does not sideline the wishes of the electorate. She emphasized the importance of considering public opinion, asserting that no party wants to lose and thus will not select candidates that jeopardize their chances.

Iyabo Obasanjo highlighted that the consensus approach would align with actual grassroots support and electoral strength, ultimately leading to victories for the party.
