APC and ADC Clash Over Violence Ahead of 2027 Elections

Political activities in Kaduna State have intensified as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) engage in a heated exchange of allegations regarding violence and vandalism ahead of the 2027 elections. The conflict arose when ADC supporters gathered to welcome their governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru, returning from Umrah.

Manasseh Istifanus, the ADC candidate for Zangon Kataf Constituency, reported that supporters were attacked at Dakande Toll Gate, describing the incident as “shameful and reprehensible.” Awwal Gezau, another ADC member, claimed that vehicles parked near Maraban Jos were also targeted. The ADC displayed damaged cars as evidence of the attacks.

In response, Sani Dan Azare, the APC's Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, alleged that APC members and properties were similarly attacked. Both parties have called for investigations by security agencies, emphasizing the need for peace and security in the state as the political contest heats up.
