ADC Condemns Violence Against Members in Kaduna State

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a statement condemning the recent attack on its members in Kaduna State, emphasizing that no individual, group, or political party has a monopoly on non-state-sanctioned violence. The statement, signed by ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, described the attack as an unacceptable escalation as political activities for the 2027 elections commence.

The ADC urged security agencies to identify, arrest, and prosecute those responsible for the violence, asserting that the use of violence in political competition is dangerous and unpredictable. The statement followed a clash between ADC supporters and police operatives during a campaign event.

The ADC expressed solidarity with its governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru, and called on the Kaduna State Government to ensure the safety of opposition parties. The party affirmed its commitment to peaceful political participation and stated that intimidation would not deter its campaign efforts.
