Court to Hear Suit Against Donald Duke's PRP Candidacy

The Federal High Court in Abuja will begin hearing a suit today regarding the emergence of Donald Duke as the presidential candidate for the People's Redemption Party (PRP) in the 2027 general elections. The suit was filed by aggrieved aspirant Yakubu Muham Kingslei, represented by lawyer D.

Sulyman. Kingslei seeks a court determination on whether Duke, who was declared the winner of the May 26 primary election, was a registered member of the PRP at the time of the May 25 primary, given that he allegedly did not register until May 4, after the party's membership registration was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The plaintiff also questions the validity of votes from various states, claiming irregularities and manipulation. Kingslei requests the court to nullify the primary election results and prevent INEC from recognizing Duke as the PRP's presidential candidate.
