Crisis in Accord Party Over Oyo Governorship Ticket

A significant crisis has erupted within the Accord Party in Oyo State as two aspirants, Mr. Olakunle Busari and Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, lay claim to the party's governorship ticket for the 2027 general elections.

Reports indicate that both candidates emerged from parallel primary elections. Mr.

Olakunle Busari claims he won the party's governorship primary election, securing 29,427 votes, while Hamzat received 18,716 votes, and Fatai Owoseni garnered 11,922 votes. The primary election was monitored by the party's national secretary, Mr.

Adebukola Ajaja, and officiated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Mr. Olugbenga Keshinro.

However, despite Busari's claim, Hamzat has declared himself the winner of the primary election and has received a certificate of return as the elected candidate. As of the time of reporting, both individuals are asserting their rights to the governorship ticket of the Accord Party in Oyo State.
