Crisis Erupts in Anambra APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Anambra State chapter of the APC is currently facing a crisis characterized by internal disputes and allegations among its members. Senator Emma Anosik announced the suspension of several individuals, including Richard Egenti, Ifeanyi Osegbo, Chukwudi Kenneth Oji, Arinz Awogu, Toni Uch, Ezekwelu, Bossi Nwoy, and Uju Onyeanusi, although no reasons were provided for these expulsions.

In response to the turmoil, Anosik has established a reconciliation committee headed by Chief Obi Onwuachu, tasked with addressing grievances within the party. Arinz Awogu, the APC standard bearer for the Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, expressed concern over the party's direction, labeling the situation a "suicidal mission" and alleging that Anosik has made pacts with opposition parties to undermine APC candidates.

Despite the internal strife, Awogu's appearance on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) list as the party's flagbearer for the 2027 House of Representatives election has brought some optimism to the APC's Ogbaru constituency.
