APC Urges Reconciliation in Anambra Ahead of 2027 Elections

Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, the National Deputy Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), addressed the leadership crisis within the party's Anambra State chapter during a stakeholders’ engagement at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja on Thursday.

Nwoye, who chairs the party’s Fact-Finding and Reconciliation Committee, called for reconciliation among party leaders and members, warning that ongoing internal divisions could threaten the party’s electoral success in the upcoming 2027 general elections and the next governorship poll. He outlined the committee's mandate to identify the causes of the crisis, engage stakeholders, reconcile aggrieved members, and recommend solutions to strengthen party structures.

Key issues identified included the alleged removal of elected officials, candidate substitutions, unresolved litigation, and expulsions without fair hearings. Nwoye stressed that peace is essential for effective voter mobilization and urged party leaders to prioritize collective success over personal ambitions to ensure a united and disciplined APC in Anambra.
