Ezza Group Accuses Nwifuru of Deception, Backs PDP Candidate

The Ezza Elder Council publicly accused Governor Francis Nwifuru of deceiving the Ezza clan concerning his second-term endorsement during a rally at Onuek Township Stadium on June 16, 2026. The council, led by Ambassador Paschal Oluchukwu, expressed disappointment over Nwifuru's absence at the event and criticized his administration's performance since taking office.

They stated that Nwifuru, who is the current governor of Ebonyi State, has not demonstrated the requisite capacity to govern effectively, leading to a lack of serious business impact in the state. The council endorsed the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2027 governorship election, emphasizing the need for a change in leadership to rescue the state from its current developmental stagnation.

They reiterated their earlier claims that Nwifuru's promises regarding power handover to the Ezza clan in 2031 were deceptive, highlighting the need for accountability and effective governance in Ebonyi State.
