Edo APC Faces Internal Strife Over Wike Endorsement

Political tensions have intensified in Edo State as allegations surface regarding Governor Mondai Okpebholo's endorsement of Nyesom Wike and claims of manipulating the APC primaries. A media diaspora group within the Edo APC has accused Okpebholo of using government appointments as a political weapon to support candidates linked to the PDP.

The group, led by General Coordinator Taju Omoruyi and General Secretary Dr. Alasa Braimoh, warned that failure to comply with Okpebholo's directives could result in serious political consequences, including the loss of appointments.

They allege that Okpebholo has instructed Edo South appointees to ensure the emergence of PDP-linked aspirants in the primaries. This situation has been described as a betrayal by loyal APC members, with accusations that Okpebholo is rebuilding PDP structures within Edo South while sidelining core APC loyalists.

The group has called for urgent intervention from APC leadership, including President Bola Tinubu, to ensure a fair internal democratic process.
