Bello El-Rufai Dismisses APC Defection Speculation

Bello El-Rufai, the son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has addressed speculation regarding a potential defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. Responding to social media users urging him to leave the APC for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bello firmly dismissed these suggestions, stating that his political decisions are not influenced by online pressure.

He reminded critics of his electoral victory, where he won the Kaduna North representative seat with 51,052 votes, defeating PDP candidate Samaila, who garnered 34,808 votes. Bello El-Rufai emphasized his loyalty to the Kaduna state administration led by Governor Uba Sani, whom he referred to as his boss.

He also mentioned his recent attendance at a public event with his father and participation in a Kaduna APC caucus meeting. Furthermore, he noted that the party allows collaboration with senior public officials, including Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Olayemi Cardoso, and declared he would not publicly oppose the governor.
