El-Rufai Defends Son's APC Membership Amid EFCC Probe

In an interview with BBC Hausa Service, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai explained his son Bello's continued membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC), despite El-Rufai's open opposition to the party. He emphasized that Bello, who is 30 years old, is capable of making his own political choices and that his decision to remain in the APC does not contradict El-Rufai's stance against the party's wrongdoings.

El-Rufai confirmed that he received an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding an investigation into alleged financial misconduct and stated he would respond to the invitation on Monday. He expressed no fear of the allegations, asserting that the current administration is politically targeting him.

El-Rufai also commented on the political landscape, mentioning figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, and emphasized the need to unite against the government to protect the country and its citizens.
