El-Rufai Temporarily Released from ICPC Custody

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has been temporarily released from the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). His son, Bashir El-Rufai, disclosed this information via a post on his Twitter account on Friday.

Bashir described his father's detention as unlawful and criticized the ICPC, referring to it as a corrupt agency of the federal republic of Nigeria. He expressed gratitude for the support received from family and friends during this challenging time.

The allegations leading to El-Rufai's detention relate to financial misconduct, which the ICPC has not publicly commented on regarding the specifics of his temporary release. The former governor's mother, Umma El-Rufai, was reported to be in Cairo, Egypt, earlier on the same day.
