Wike Declares 2027 Election Concluded in Support of Tinubu

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced that the 2027 election has effectively concluded, citing a political realignment across Nigeria in favor of President Bola Tinubu. Speaking to journalists on Friday, Wike indicated that significant political developments supporting the President would emerge soon, describing these changes as part of a broader reorganization.

He emphasized that the election's outcome is settled, stating, "It has been concluded, so there’s nothing anybody can do." Wike criticized Dele Momodu, a former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for his comments regarding his connection to Ile-Ife, asserting that Adeleke, who was supported by the PDP, is aligned with Tinubu. He further claimed that many politicians publicly identify with the PDP while actually supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC), indicating a larger coalition.

Wike dismissed the notion of a leading opposition, stating that the political landscape has changed dramatically, leaving no formidable opposition party.
