Ex-Aide Urges Tinubu to Address INEC Chairman Disparity

Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to President Buhari, called for President Bola Tinubu to address the alleged regional disparity in the appointment of INEC chairmen. Ahmad highlighted that out of the 12 chairmen who have led INEC since its inception in 1998, only two have come from the northern region.

The current INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, is set to end his tenure in 2025. Ahmad shared a list of past chairmen to emphasize the need for a fair representation from all regions.
