Former Ondo First Lady Endorses Peter Obi for 2027 Presidency Amidst ADC Debates

Betti Akeredolu, the former First Lady of Ondo State, announced her support for Peter Obi's presidential bid during an official inauguration ceremony in Owerri Municipal Local Government Area. The endorsement was made on behalf of the Obidi Movement, a faction within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The declaration coincides with ongoing discussions within the ADC on whether to back Obi or former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the party's presidential ticket in the 2027 elections. Additionally, the ex-Ondo First Lady revealed the intent of the Obidi Movement to field a candidate for the Imo East Senatorial District seat in the 2027 elections.

Notably, Bright Ndibunwa, a prominent ADC chieftain, was earlier reported to have predicted a potential road accident involving Obi. These developments highlight the growing political dynamics and alliances shaping up ahead of the upcoming elections.
