Tinubu Appoints Dele Alake for 2027 Election Campaign

Ahead of the January 2027 elections, President Bola Tinubu appointed Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, as the Director of Policy and Manifesto Development within the ruling party's 223-member structure. This appointment indicates that preparations for the upcoming elections are already in progress.

Alake has called on Nigerians to renew Tinubu's mandate, asserting that the president has established a solid foundation for a stronger and more united nation. He emphasized that the Tinubu administration has delivered tangible reforms aimed at sustainable growth, security, and national cohesion.

Alake urged patience and support from the populace, highlighting that nation-building requires continuity. The presidential election is scheduled for January 16, 2027, alongside parliamentary elections, while gubernatorial elections will take place on February 7.

Tinubu faces over 15 opposition candidates, with analysts predicting a three-man race, including former Vice President of the African Democratic Congress and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
