Analysts and Parties Set Agenda for 2027 Elections

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially commences the campaign period for the 2027 elections, political analysts and parties are positioning their candidates. Dr Tunmise Adediran, an Abuja-based political analyst, advocates for an issue-based campaign, urging politicians to avoid attacks and focus on concrete plans regarding inflation, insecurity, and job creation.

He stresses that the party with the clearest four-year policy roadmap will gain an advantage. A senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stated that the party will campaign on its performance over the past four years, highlighting infrastructure improvements and economic management under President Bola Tinubu's administration.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) aims to present a campaign focused on rescuing Nigeria from economic hardship, while a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) strategist emphasizes the importance of youth engagement and credibility. The Action Alliance (AA) seeks a fair and credible election process, advocating for issue-focused campaigns among all stakeholders.
