2027 Elections: “I’m Not Ready to Go Into the Gutters with Anyone,” Makinde Taunts Wike

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has declared his readiness to engage in political battles without resorting to mudslinging, taunting his counterpart Governor Nyesom Wike. Makinde made this statement during a press briefing after a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) meeting.

Despite recent challenges, Makinde remains a strong force within the party. The discussion of zoning the PDP presidential ticket to the South has also been a topic of debate, with Makinde stating that the party is not yet at that stage.

The 2027 elections have sparked internal divisions within the PDP, with factions supporting different candidates such as former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Anambra state governor Peter Obi. Makinde's name has also been thrown into the mix as a potential candidate.

Meanwhile, Makinde has clashed with Wike over the issue of zoning the presidency to the South in 2027.
