2027: PDP Not Dead, Yet To Decide Zone To Produce President, Says Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not dead but rather growing stronger, despite the ongoing debate within political circles. He mentioned that the party is yet to decide on which zone will produce the presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of the party uniting and focusing on offering Nigerians a credible alternative in the upcoming years. He dismissed claims made by a group leader who had earlier disowned the zoning consultation meeting held in Lagos, stating that efforts are being made to reconcile any internal disagreements within the party.

The summit, attended by key stakeholders such as Governor Douye Diri, former Governor Emmanuel Udom, and others, is aimed at revitalizing the PDP and positioning it for success in the future. Governor Makinde highlighted the need for unity and a democratic process within the party to ensure its resurgence in Nigerian politics.
