NDC Faces Setback as Key Members Defect to APC

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) experienced a major political setback in Bayelsa State as several prominent members defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This includes Vice Chairman Sahe Umar and Deacon Felix Wilson, who cited unfair treatment within the NDC as their reason for leaving.

Wilson, who emerged victorious in the NDC House Assembly primary election for Sagbama Constituency II, expressed dissatisfaction with the party's leadership and alleged that his primary victory was undermined by the party's decision to substitute him with Michael Magbisa. The defections occurred shortly after a federal high court ruling nullified the NDC's registration, creating further uncertainty for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Other notable defectors included Victor Egba, Gilbert Alawei, Agidi Georg, Azibola Oru, Solomon Etor, Fineman Eseimokumo, and Munteuma Clifford. The APC's Deputy Governor Dr.

Peter Akp welcomed the new members, emphasizing the need for unity and discipline within the party as they prepare for future elections.
