Usman Advocates Ideas Over Bitterness for 2027 Elections

Senator Nenadi Usman, the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), addressed the need for a constructive approach to the 2027 elections, advocating for ideas over bitterness. Her remarks were made during the 80th birthday celebration of Senator Jonah David Jang in Jos, Plateau State.

Usman, a former Minister of Finance, stressed that personal interests should be set aside for the collective goal of nation-building. She stated that the upcoming elections should not be a conflict among Nigerians but rather a contest of ideas, competence, and character.

Usman condemned the tactics of politicians who incite division among citizens, asserting that the country must prioritize unity. She also praised Jang for his long-standing service to Nigeria, highlighting his roles as a military officer, governor, and senator.

Usman concluded by emphasizing that democracy thrives on tolerance and respect for differing opinions, urging politicians to conduct themselves with patriotism.
