ADC Warns Tinubu of 2027 Election Defeat Risks

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a statement warning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prepare for significant political challenges ahead of the 2027 general elections. The ADC argues that the real contest will be against millions of Nigerians facing economic hardship and insecurity.

The party cites widespread economic struggles, including rising living costs, food inflation, and a heavy debt burden, as major concerns that the government must address. Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC's spokesperson, criticized Tinubu's recent comments, which were perceived as mocking the ADC, calling them unpresidential.

The ADC also rejected claims that it was conventionally held in public spaces, alleging that access to venues like Eagle Square in Abuja has become increasingly restricted under the current administration. The party accuses Tinubu of undermining democratic institutions, particularly the legislature, and warns that his actions could worsen the economic and security situation, ultimately shaping voter decisions in 2027.
