En Nwannaji Wins NDC Governorship Primary in Enugu

Prof. Jame En Nwannaji has emerged as the governorship candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He was declared the winner of the party's governorship primary election held on Friday, defeating other aspirants including Chief Chinyeaka Ohaa and Senat Gilbert Nnaji. The announcement was made by Dr.

Sebastian Okafor, the NDC Secretary in Enugu State, who confirmed that the primary election was conducted across 17 local government areas in the state under the supervision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In addition to the governorship candidacy, the NDC also announced its senatorial candidates: Dr.

Chika Obetta for Enugu North, Dr. Mr.

Celelia Ikechukwu for Enugu East, and Barr. Mr.

Ugochi Ohajekw for Enugu West. The party's chairman in Enugu State, Dr.

Johnpaul Ani, described the primary election as peaceful and well-organized, urging aspirants who did not win to accept the outcome and work together for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for January 2027.
