Aondoakaa Selected as PDP Gubernatorial Candidate in Benue

Aondoakaa has emerged as the gubernatorial candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue following a week of consultations that involved influential party members, including former Governor Samuel Ortom, Senator Abba Moro, and state party chairman Ezekiel Adaji. Despite initial failures among aspirants, a consensus candidate was produced, with ten co-aspirants publicly endorsing Aondoakaa's candidacy and pledging to rally behind him ahead of the elections.

The move aims to unseat the current governor, Hyacinth Alia. Aondoakaa emphasized the need for unity within the party to reclaim power in 2027, while other party leaders acknowledged the challenges faced in the process.

He committed to reconciling interests within the PDP and building a cohesive campaign machinery capable of winning the elections, expressing a desire to restore confidence in governance for the benefit of Benue voters.
