Maku and Abbo Seek Labour Party Nominations for 2027

Former Minister Labaran Maku and former Senator Ishaku Abbo have expressed their intentions to run for office in the 2027 general elections by obtaining nomination forms from the Labour Party. Maku aims to contest for the Nasarawa North senatorial district seat, while Abbo is seeking the Labour Party governorship ticket for Adamawa State.

Both politicians defected from their previous parties, with Maku leaving the Social Democratic Party and Abbo departing from the African Democratic Congress, citing internal crises and unresolved disputes. They collected their nomination forms at the Labour Party secretariat in Abuja.

Maku praised the transparent process of the Labour Party and expressed confidence in the party's electoral prospects, believing it will emerge victorious in the upcoming elections. Abbo also commended the growing influence of the Labour Party and lauded the leadership of the party's national chairman, Nenadi Usman, expressing optimism about the party's chances in Adamawa State and the North East region.
