Labour Party Clears Aspirants for Nasarawa Primaries

The Labour Party has officially cleared multiple aspirants for the upcoming primaries in Nasarawa State, scheduled for May 23, 2026, as part of the preparations for the 2027 general elections. The party's national screening committee conducted a thorough assessment of the candidates in accordance with the Labour Party's constitution and electoral guidelines.

Among those cleared are Labaran Maku, who will contest for the governorship, and Gaza Jonathan Gbefwi, a former minister, who is vying for the Nasarawa South senatorial seat. Additionally, Dr.

Emmanuel Akolo, Jess Jame Ayang, and Blanzon Adaamu Bako are also set to participate in the primaries. Thirteen aspirants have been cleared for the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, including Asilika Essla, Moham Ibrahim, and Hon.

Ashi David Maiyaki. The committee expressed confidence in the candidates' commitment to a peaceful primary process.
