Ex-Nasarawa Account-General Yakubu to Contest 2027 Governorship

Dr. Zakka Yakubu, the former Account-General of Nasarawa State, declared his intent to run for the governorship in the 2027 elections.

This announcement took place on Sunday during a rally in Akwanga Local Government Area. Yakubu pledged to implement an inclusive administration that prioritizes the people's budget, ensuring that community needs are captured in the budgetary process.

He stated that councillors would engage with constituents to understand their priorities, particularly in sectors like health, education, and infrastructure. Yakubu criticized previous administrations for focusing on projects that do not directly improve citizens' welfare, vowing to avoid "white elephant projects" and instead focus on interventions that directly enhance the quality of life for the people.

He expressed gratitude for the support he has received and promised to prioritize community-driven development projects.
