Nasarawa West: Musa Moham Resigns to Contest Governorship

Musa Moham, the Accountant General of Nasarawa State, announced his resignation on Monday to pursue a candidacy in the 2027 governorship elections. His decision follows sustained calls from residents for him to vie for the top position, which he accepted, pledging to build on the achievements of the current administration led by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Moham, who previously served as the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2015, expressed gratitude to Governor Sule for approving his resignation. As the 2027 general elections approach, political tension in the state is escalating, with over 30 aspirants from various political parties eyeing the governorship position.

Governor Sule hinted during a meeting that the next governor should emerge from the Nasarawa West senatorial district, which has not produced a governor in the past 20 years. Notable aspirants from the western zone include Shehu Tukur, Aliyu Wadada, and several others from different political parties.
