D’Tigers Unveil Roster for 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria’s Senior Men’s National Basketball Team, D’Tigers, has unveiled its final 12-man roster for the fourth window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers. The roster includes players such as Chimezie Metu, Josh Okogie, and Udoka Azubuike, among others.

Hon. Bukola Olopade, the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), emphasized the importance of this window for D’Tigers and Nigerian basketball, urging the team to seize the opportunity to secure qualification for the World Cup. Olopade called on the players and coaching staff to play with unity, discipline, and national pride.

The team will be led by Head Coach David Fizdale, with assistants Dan Craig, Quinton Crawford, Deji Akindele, and Dapo Adegibile. D’Tigers will begin their campaign against Cameroon on August 27, 2026, followed by matches against South Sudan on August 28 and Cape Verde on August 30, all taking place in Rades, Tunisia.

The NSC reaffirmed its support for the team and encouraged Nigerians to rally behind them.
