INEC Reveals Tinubu's Missing School Qualifications

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the qualifications of presidential candidates, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose credentials only included a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chicago State University (CSU) in 1979, with no primary or secondary school qualifications listed. This omission has raised concerns, particularly as it recalls the legal disputes following the 2023 presidential election, where Atiku Abubakar, then the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alleged that Tinubu submitted a forged diploma from CSU.

Although CSU confirmed Tinubu's graduation, the authenticity of the diploma was a significant issue in post-election litigation, which was ultimately dismissed by both the Presidential Election Petition Court and the Supreme Court. Legal experts, including Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mumini Jimoh, have questioned the implications of Tinubu's missing primary and secondary school qualifications, emphasizing that such education is a basic requirement for presidential candidates under Nigerian law.
