INEC Publishes Tinubu's 2027 Nomination Documents

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the personal particulars of candidates for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections. President Bola Tinubu's nomination documents, submitted under Form EC9 for the All Progressives Congress (APC), show that the sections for his primary and secondary education are blank.

The only educational qualification listed is a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree obtained in 1979. Additionally, the documents include a statutory declaration from Kabiru Olawole Tinubu, who identifies as the president's uncle, affirming Tinubu's birth date of March 29, 1952.

Tinubu's work history indicates employment at Mobil Nigeria Limited from 1983 to 1992 and as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, with his current position listed as being with the Federal Government of Nigeria since 2023. INEC's publication aligns with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act 2026, allowing public scrutiny of candidates' information.
