Goodluck Jonathan to Pick PDP Form for 2027 Election

Goodluck Jonathan, the former President of Nigeria, is anticipated to collect his nomination form from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday for the 2027 presidential election. This development comes after the Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed a suit that sought to bar him from contesting.

The suit was filed by lawyer Johnmari Jideobi, who argued that Jonathan should be restrained from presenting himself as a candidate. Chris Uche, Jonathan's lawyer, challenged the suit, stating it was unnecessary and had legal defects, as the issues had already been decided in previous cases.

The court, presided over by Justice Peter Lifu, adjourned the matter until May 11 to hear Jonathan's objections to the suit. Jonathan has been urged to engage the youth in the electoral process and has emphasized the importance of patriotism and unity among Nigerians.
