Mutfwang Wins Plateau APC Governorship Ticket for 2027

Caleb Mutfwang secured the Plateau APC governorship ticket in a significant victory during the primary election held on a Friday night, where he received 233,335 votes, defeating his closest rival, Bida, who garnered only 3,070 votes. The results were announced at the APC state secretariat, with the chairman of the APC committee present.

Mutfwang dominated the contest across various local government areas, including Mangu, Kanam, Shendam, Langtang North, and Wase. The exercise recorded 240,832 registered voters, with 236,405 votes cast.

Mutfwang's performance included 26,652 votes in Kank LGA, 28,095 votes in Mangu LGA, and 17,208 votes in Shendam LGA, while Bida's highest was 687 votes in Kank LGA. Mutfwang fulfilled the constitutional requirements of the APC by securing the highest number of valid votes, thereby being declared the winner of the primary election and the official APC governorship candidate for Plateau State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
