Kwara Group Urges Tinubu to Prevent Political Manipulation

The Kwara Citizen Movement has issued a plea to President Bola Tinubu to avert what they describe as a political suicide in Kwara State ahead of the 2027 governorship elections. The group expressed alarm over a series of purported endorsements for various governorship aspirants, including the latest endorsement of Senator Saliu Mustapha.

In a statement released on Thursday, signed jointly by Alhaji Abdulhakeem Gafar, Hajii Nana Hawau Alabidun, Honour Mathew Segun, and Awwal Adamu, they warned that the political landscape in Kwara is being manipulated by interest groups that could override public interest. They criticized attempts to deceive the President and blackmail the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging Tinubu and Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to subject aspirants to rigorous integrity and loyalty background checks to protect the future of Kwara State.
