Kwara APC Stakeholders Warn Tinubu on 2027 Election Risks

On April 22, 2026, Kwara APC stakeholders, including Hon. Olosasa Toyin, Comrad Onimaza, Hamzat Ganeei, and Hajia Abdulrahman Alabi, wrote a letter to President Tinubu and Yilwatda addressing concerns about the party's prospects in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The stakeholders commended the President for his economic reforms but criticized Governor Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for policies perceived as detrimental to the party's popularity. They highlighted the governor's lack of empathy during recent security crises and his failure to connect with ordinary citizens.

The letter accused the governor of using coercive measures against party leaders and failing to identify with the party's leadership, which has led to internal strife. The situation has worsened to the point where aspirants are hesitant to campaign openly.

The stakeholders expressed that the governor's actions have made him a liability for the party, particularly in the central and southern senatorial districts, and raised concerns about his potential third-term ambitions.
