Coalition Warns Against Electoral Malpractice in South-East

The Coalition South East Youth, led by Goodluck Ibem, has announced plans to embark on a comprehensive electoral sensitization and democratic defense tour across the South-East region of Nigeria in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This initiative aims to protect the sanctity of the ballot and uphold the fundamental rights of the people as guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution.

Ibem highlighted that Section 14(2)(c) of the Constitution mandates the participation of the people in governance and ensures that any attempt to rig elections or manipulate electoral outcomes is a direct assault on the democratic foundation of Nigeria. Furthermore, Section 1(2) of the Constitution explicitly states that the Federal Republic of Nigeria shall not govern except in accordance with constitutional provisions.

The coalition will mobilize to educate and empower citizens to defend their votes legally and resist any form of electoral fraud, issuing a clear warning to individuals or groups contemplating electoral malpractice in the South-East.
