Zulum Presents Gubio as APC Consensus Candidate for 2027

On Thursday, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State presented Engr. Gubio as the consensus candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election to former governor Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Zulum described Gubio's emergence as the result of extensive consultations among party stakeholders, reflecting a unified position within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strategic leadership and support, which he noted has provided significant backing for the APC in Borno State.

Zulum acknowledged the Vice President's support in strengthening party cohesion and expressed gratitude to the APC leadership for facilitating Gubio's emergence as the consensus candidate. The presentation was attended by notable figures including former governor Maina Ma'aji Lawan, Deputy Governor Umar Usman Kadafur, APC Deputy National Chairman Ali Bukar Dalori, and several other party leaders and stakeholders.
