Borno Governor Zulum Endorses Mustapha Gubio as Successor

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has officially named Mustapha Gubio as his preferred successor ahead of the 2027 elections. This announcement was confirmed by Zulum's spokesman, Malam Dauda Iliya, on Tuesday.

Gubio, who is a former commissioner, recently met with Zulum and subsequently obtained a nomination form in Abuja, indicating his intention to run for the governorship. The endorsement follows a meeting that included notable figures such as Senator Chief Whip Moham Tahir Monguno, who also expressed support for Gubio's candidacy.
