Hayatu-Deen Pledges Support for Young Entrepreneurs

On Wednesday, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, the presidential aspirant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), engaged with young entrepreneurs at his campaign office in Abuja. He pledged to lower business costs and prioritize job creation as part of his economic vision for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This meeting occurred amid rising economic pressures in the country, including inflation, insecurity, high energy costs, and currency instability, which have significantly impacted the business environment. Hayatu-Deen noted that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are crucial for driving Nigeria's economy, accounting for major job creation and sustaining millions of households.

He discussed the challenges entrepreneurs face, including escalating operational costs and shrinking profit margins. Hayatu-Deen identified insecurity as a major barrier to economic growth and stressed that businesses cannot thrive in an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.

He called for reforms in key areas such as energy supply, infrastructure, taxation, and access to finance to ease the burden on SMEs and foster a resilient and inclusive economy.
