Bishop Kukah Rejects VP Role, Prioritizes Spiritual Mission

Bishop Matthew Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, has publicly dismissed any speculation regarding his potential candidacy for the vice presidency, specifically in relation to Bola Tinubu's 2027 presidential campaign. In a recent address, Kukah clarified that he has no intention of joining the presidential race or serving as a running mate, as he believes his spiritual responsibilities outweigh any political ambitions.

He articulated that the role of the church holds greater significance than any political office, asserting that he is fully committed to his vocation as a servant of God. Kukah's remarks highlight his conviction that political positions do not align with his life's mission, further emphasizing that the presidency does not offer anything of value in terms of political tickets or roles.
