Abia Deputy Governor Denies Threat Against President Tinubu

Abia State Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu has dismissed reports claiming he threatened to teach President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a "bitter lesson" concerning the detention of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. Emetu's Chief Press Secretary, Cyril Chukwudi Ek Mba, stated that the reports were entirely false and misrepresented the Deputy Governor's views.

He emphasized that the Deputy Governor never made such remarks at any official event or press briefing. Emetu expressed concern over the media's failure to verify the context of the statements and highlighted the sensitivity surrounding Nnamdi Kanu's detention, which evokes strong emotions among citizens.

He criticized the media for publishing unverified allegations that could heighten political tension and mislead the public. Emetu called for an immediate retraction of the false reports and an unreserved apology from the media outlets involved.
